Great weekend guide to Auburn, California-Foothills of the Sierras

Hi Guys,

Many folks traveling along I-80 from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe think of Auburn, California–about half way there–as a freeway stop.  Lots has changed since I passed through in the 70’s–stopping in for a beer at the legendary Shanghai bar.  The stories I could tell!  No longer a stop to wet your whistle, now the self-proclaimed “Endurance Capital of the World” is not only known for its prolific hiking trails but also its trendy breweries, wineries, restaurants, charming shops, beautiful scenery. Bay Area transplants to the area find the housing more affordable without sacrificing quality of life; Auburn is becoming a destination to not simply visit, but to live. Take some time to explore the area and you will be amazed by the fantastic things to do and see in this beautiful foothills town, flanked by the American River Canyon.  Courtesy of the “Bon Traveler” blog, I’m sharing a great comprehensive guide chock full of fun things to do while visiting Auburn,  Ca.  There are many destinations we locals treasure and frequent as well!
